How to perform:
  1. Join the tips of the index, middle & Ring fingers to the tip of the Thumb.
  2. The other fingers are kept straight and relaxed.
  3. Place the palms, face-up, on your knees or thighs.
  4. Keep your spine and head straight, shoulders relaxed.
  5. Perform the mudra with both hands.
Benefits of Udaan Mudra:
  • This Mudra increases the Vata dosha in the body, hence it is a Vata Karak Mudra.
  • The Udana Mudra activates the Udana Vayu.
  • Udana Mudra benefits the vocal cords (voice).
  • It is very beneficial for the Respiratory system.
  • It helps balance the Thyroid and the Parathyroid glands.
  • The parathyroid gland is in control of the kidneys. With this mudra, the parathyroid gland functions well, and kidney problems are solved.
  • The speech becomes clear.
  • The respiratory system works better.
  • Limbs get strength and they become strong.
Precautions:
Persons with aggravated Vata dosha should perform the mudra in moderation.
