Vyan Mudra (Vata Karak mudra)

How to perform :
  1. Join the tips of the index & the Middle of the fingers to the tip of the Thumb.
  2. The other fingers are kept straight and relaxed.
  3. Place the palms, face-up, on your knees or thighs.
  4. Keep your spine and head straight, shoulders relaxed.
  5. Perform the mudra with both hands.
Benefits of Vyan Mudra :
  • This mudra increased the Vata dosha in the body.
  • The current of air - Vyan Vayu, in the veins and arteries is said to be the circulation of blood in the body.
  • When this air current starts moving very fast in the lungs, arteries, and veins, the disease that results is called High Blood Pressure.
  • Performing Vyan mudra 2-3 times a day for 50 minutes each followed by Pran mudra for 15 minutes helps in regulating blood pressure.
  • This mudra helps to regulate the speed of the air circulation of Vyan Vayu.
  • Blood pressure - either high or low - is regulated and balanced.
  • Lack of initiative, enthusiasm, slowness of thoughts, and perception is corrected with this mudra.
  • This mudra is used to overcome the following disorders -
      ▪ Drowsiness, excessive sleep
      ▪ Intolerance to heat
      ▪ Sunstroke
      ▪ Excessive sweating, thirst, urination
      ▪ Excessive loose motions
      ▪ Excessive bleeding during periods
      ▪ Ailments of the heart and blood circulatory system.
