This easy-to-make tea is profoundly healing. The mix of cumin, coriander, and fennel helps kindle your digestive “fire” (Agni), improve digestion, nourish the tissues, and keep cravings at bay. At Ayurvedic conferences and lectures, they often serve this tea for attendees to sip all day long.

  • 5 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • ½ teaspoon ajwain seeds (optional)
  1. In a small pot, add the water and seeds. Stir.
  2. Bring to a boil, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and strain.
  3. Pour the tea into a mug, and enjoy.
  • I often make a pot of tea in the morning, adjusting the number of seeds to the amount of water I use. I mix the seeds together beforehand in equal amounts and use 1 teaspoon of the seed mixture per cup of water.
