  • Nabhi is a big blood vessel Marma around the navel, which is the centre of this Marma.
  • Application: Indigestion, abdominal cramp, restlessness, anxiety, intestinal inflammation, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, flatulence, loss of balance in life.
  • Significance: The navel is the centre of the body, a Brahmasthan in the language of Ayurveda. It is the absolute point of rest and the source of order and health. If the navel Marma is in harmony, we are at home in our body and feel centred. As beings in the wombs of our mothers, we are nourished through the navel by our mother’s placenta. The navel maintains this nourishing function throughout our life, but after birth in an energetic way. The navel Marma is regarded as a Prana centre from which, according to the Vedic texts, emerge all the 72,000 energy channels, which are the meridians or Nadis. In the navel Marma, we touch the root of our existence.
  • Control function: Nabhi controls the third Chakra, Manipura. When the Chakra is in harmony, this wheel spins in a clockwise direction. Its main task is to ensure the flow of nutrients along the various digestive stages from the stomach through the small intestine and large intestine towards the rectum. The fire at the centre of our life, the digestive fire, Agni, also resides here.
