The Wrist Marma – Manibandha

  • Manibandha means "that which connects the hand" (with the arm). As a joint Marma, it monitors movement and stands for flexibility.
  • Application: Vata disorders, the tension in the wrist, general joint pain and a tendency to arthritis, neck and back pain, mental fatigue, weakness of concentration, insomnia, nervousness, bronchial asthma,  bowel dysfunction.
  • At the psychological level, it is responsible for sensitivity, quick thinking, creativity & cheerfulness.

Control Function: controls all three Doshas, but especially "Vata"; control lubrication of the joints ("Shleshaka"), circulation ("Vyana"), feelings ("Sadhaka"), respiratory organs ("Prana", "Udana"), and digestion ("Pachaka"); strengthens bones ("Asthi"), back and spine ("Avalambaka"); soothing effect for the ears (tinnitus).
