How to perform :
  1. Interlock all the fingers together.
  2. Touch the middle fingers to each other, keeping them straight and pointed upwards.
  3. Place your hands in front of the abdomen.
  4. Keep your spine and head straight, shoulders relaxed.
Benefits of Matangi Mudra :
  • Matangi is the God of Inner Harmony. 
  • Performing the Matangi Mudra enables a person to attain harmony and peace with himself and with the surroundings.
  • This mudra activates the Fire, Air, Water, and Space elements and the Kapha dosha. 
  • This mudra beneficially affects the hypothalamus in the brain which is the part of the autonomous nervous system and establishes a state of balance (i.e. homeostasis) within the body.
  • It also relieves tension and pain in organs of the chest and the abdomen. 
  • Perform this mudra while meditating to relieve you from anxiety and stress. 
  • Perform the mudra for at least 15 minutes when suffering from internal pain. 
  • It strengthens the respiratory rhythm and the energy balance around the Solar Plexus.
  • Practice for 5 minutes if suffering from restless legs.
  • It gives strength to the digestive organs – the liver, spleen, gall bladder, stomach, pancreas, kidneys.
  • It builds the digestive fire.
  • It enhances creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Perform this mudra if feeling lethargic.

Precautions : 

  • Persons having High BP or Pitta aggravation should perform moderately.
